Last week, the cast of #FamilyMatters got together for a reunion that was featured in #EntertainmentWeekly. One person that was missing was #JaimeeFoxworth who played little sister Judy. At the end of season 4, she was phased out of the show and no one ever saw her again until many years later when she emerged as an adult film star.
Surely, that shouldn’t have mattered when it came to Foxworth reuniting with her tv family after 20 years, however she thinks it might. In an interview with #TheRoot, the actress explains that she wasn’t even asked to attend the reunion and believes that her omission was deliberate. “I was not invited at all. I wasn’t even contacted,” Foxworth said.
She went on to explain how Shawn Harrison, who played goofy character Waldo texted her two days before the EW feature dropped in order to give a heads up so that she wouldn’t be stunned. “He asked if anyone contacted me, and he just wanted to let me know that EW contacted them to do a reunion cover. And he just didn’t want me to be shocked when it came out,” she continued.
Foxworth came to the conclusion that she was purposely left out of the feature after noticing the picture of now deceased Mama Winslow on the table.
“By being included, it could have started a conversation about how certain people in a family don’t always do what everyone agrees with. Sure, I did adult films, but the only people that are going to be shocked about it are kids. It’s not shocking. I did not kill anyone. I didn’t murder anyone. The only pain I inflicted on anyone was myself,” Foxworth said.
Today, Foxworth’s only concern is being a mother to her young son and says that her past does not define her!
“I’m not that little girl anymore. Judy and Family Matters don’t define me. What defines me is how my son turns out. I don’t want people to look at my past, and even this situation, and judge me. I am extremely happy in the place that I’m in right now. I’m just trying to live my best life.”
The other day, Shawn Harrison made light of Jaimee’s removal from Family Matters and came up with an imaginary storyline. Check it out below!
