We’ve all been waiting for Wendy Williams to address the Aaliyah Biopic that she produced on Lifetime that aired this weekend. It’s no secret that the movie was an epic fail, and we were patiently waiting in front of our TV screen to hear what she had to say about it on her show.
Most people who flooded her newsfeed with hateful comments demanded an apology. She didn’t give us one, but she sure did kill them with stats.
I see my Aaliyah movie broke the Internet this weekend,” she says.
Everybody got an opinion. Well, whether you loved it or you hated it..you watched. My movie was the second highest rated movie on ALL of cable. Not just Lifetime, but all of cable!”
Of course Suzanne hyped the crowd up to clap after her statement. In case you are wondering if she saw any of the hateful comments on her news feed…she didn’t.
“My entire phone switched to Spanish,” Wendy says. She couldn’t read any of her comments, mentions, or texts because everything was in another language.
Wendy Williams knows that is a bold face lie! She knows she saw her newsfeed blowing up. Especially after she tweeted that “Let me know” was her favorite Aaliyah song (the song is actually called “At your best”) right before the movie aired on Lifetime.
Girl, being the highest rated means nothing when you don’t have a single good review of your movie. We all watched to see exactly how bad the movie would be, and it was terrible. When it comes to Film/TV respect is everything, and no one respected or admired the production.
I actually like Wendy Williams. In fact, I was disappointed in her work. I expected her to produce something of quality since she is always throwing shade at everyone else.
The acting was horrible and the movie didn’t feature any of Aaliyah’s hottest songs because they couldn’t obtain a license to use her music. What is an Aaliyah movie without her hottest Jams?
Not to mention the casting was HORRIBLE. The guy who played R. Kelly looked like he should have been casted in Seal’s biopic, not to mention the character that played Dame Dash looked more like “Chance” from the reality show, “I Love New York” on Vh1.
Alexandra Shipp committed career suicide when she decided to play the lead role for this movie and “Drumline 2”. Two consecutive movies with really really bad reviews is kind of hard to bounce back from.
Alexandra can’t act anyway. She needed to do her research on Aaliyah’s mannerisms. Her acting skills are best suited for Disney Channel.
Wendy, since you missed the backlash because your phone language switched to “Spanish”… we’ve provided a few memes below to summarize everyone’s reactions on social media:

Lmfao what a joke! Idgas if your movie was the number one highest rated of all times, it still a big FAT, steaming pile of garbage… In case you can’t see this in English, Wendell, here it is in Spanish — grande y gordo, humeante montón de basura !!
Umm fuck her
She just wanted to be-able to expose Aaliyah and R Kelly. No love for her.
Wendy… You in Danger girl…
Wendy is delusional!!
Well she absolutely right, she still got high ratings and big money from the movie #howyoudoing, No i’m not a big Fan of Wendy and yes the movie sucked but it is what it is, its over with now everybody tweet VH1 to remake the Biopic or Oprah to Remake it on OWN so she can get some high ratings.
It has the most watch views because everyone wanted to see it & has been waiting for it…no one knew it would be horrible in every aspect until after watching it.
Wendy you really going to sit here and tell that lie that you couldn’t read anybody’s review because your phone switched to Spanish? How ironic is that. You knew that movie was when you produce it. Look just because you have a talk show and a little cameo in Steve Harvey movie doesn’t make you an actress nor does it make you a freaking producer leave that shit to the professional. I seen the first 30 minutes of it and between the bad acting, casting and producing I couldn’t take no more. You need to take that roll of film and burn that
We all need to petition Lifetime to make sure that never be shown again
Well lifetime lost fans
high rating and big money means nothing when it was all negative feedback now her name and reputation is fucked and most people want dare watch another movie she put her name on
