HBO is currently gearing up for the release of a new four-part documentary on the partnership between music industry heavyweights Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.
The four-part documentary will be called, “The Defiant Ones.”
According to Billboard, the film directed by Allen Hughes will feature interviews from some of music’s biggest names such as, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Gwen Stefani, will.i.am and others.
The film will cover their individual paths within the music industry, as well as their partnership behind Aftermath Records and collaboration on the Beats electronic headphones.
Casey Bloys, the president of programming at HBO said, “‘The Defiant Ones’ has everything you expect in a great story — drama and humor, tragedy and triumph. Allen Hughes takes you on a journey through some of the most important flash points of popular culture, and I’m delighted that we can bring this unforgettable saga to our viewers.”
The film, which took a total of three years to make, will also feature never before seen footage of studio sessions with artists such as, Eazy-E, Stevie Nicks, N.W.A, U2 and others.
“The Defiant Ones” airs in 2017.
