Bill Cosby is still wrapped up in his sexual assault case and it doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon.
Cosby has been trying to get his Andrea Constand case thrown out in Pennsylvania but according to the NY Post there’s been no luck because his motion has been denied.
His lawyers argued that Cosby’s “end-stage glaucoma” which contributed to his blindness, makes it hard for him to defend himself in court.
“Eleven years ago, Mr. Cosby still had the right and ability to inspect faces, documents and other visual clues that could trigger his recall of alibis to or exculpatory details of the alleged encounter with the Commonwealth’s witnesses,” lawyers Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa wrote.
“But now, consigned to blindness, Mr. Cosby is forced to sit idly by, entirely unable to assist in his own defense or to recall and provide exculpatory details that he may otherwise have been able to retrieve.”
Constrand, who used to work at Temple University, accused the former actor of sexually assaulting her after she visited him at his home back in 2004. She was able to settle her civil case with him for an undisclosed amount in 2006.
Bill’s next court date will be December 13th and his trial is set to start no later than June 2017.
