All of the fans of the new FX comedy, “Atlanta,” have something to celebrate, as the show has been renewed for a second season.
According to Deadline, the comedy created by Donald Glover has been ordered for ten new episodes. This is unusual for a FX series, as the network usually waits for the data from comprehensive DVR and Video on Demand.
Nonetheless, the instant success of the show has the network wanting more. It has been labeled “the most-watched basic cable primetime scripted comedy premiere” in more than three years.
The shows viewings have increased from 1.3 million to 1.9 million.
For those who may not be familiar with the shows synopsis, it follows two cousins who are played by Donald Glover and Brian Tyree Henry. We see them work their way through the music scene within Atlanta to better their lives and their family’s lives.
Donald Glover also serves as the show executive producer.
“Atlanta” airs on FX on Tuesdays at 10pm.
