Back in 2014 Lala Anthony released her book, “The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex and Happiness.” The book went on to become a New York Times Best Seller, as Anthony offered her advice on love by telling her own personal stories.
Now the best seller will be turned into a film.
According to Variety, Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment Company in collaboration with Codeblack Films will bring Lala’s story to the big screen. Both companies will produce and finance the film, as it is the first of the many films they plan to work on.
Lala Anthony will also serve as the films executive producer through her Lala Land Company.
We are all familiar with the many films Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit company is responsible for, which include, “Just Wright”, “Beauty Shop”, “Bringing Down The House” and more.
Codeblack Films is a portion of Lionsgate and has made it their duty to cater to the black audience through film. They were behind Kevin Hart’s 2014 live comedy film, “Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain,” which made over $32 million.
Roommates what are your thoughts?
