Chris Shares His Thoughts On MJ Comparison
As The Shade Room previously reported, Tank clearly expressed his opinion on Chris Brown’s talent compared to Michael Jackson’s during his conversation with Stephen A. Smith.
The discussion brought back a clip from C. Breezy’s June 2022 interview with Big Boy.
When Big Boy mentioned that some people claim he’s better than MJ, Breezy quickly replied, “That’s cap!”
Chris explained that whenever the discussion comes up, he makes sure to stay out of it.
“I mean, I stay the hell up out of it. Like, I kinda back off it. My personal take on it… is like I wouldn’t even be breathing or being able to sing a song if that man didn’t exist,” Chris says in the clip. “He’s light years ahead. There is no competing with him!”
Chris added that he avoids focusing on the outside noise but feels honored to be mentioned alongside Michael, who has always been a major inspiration to him.
“People wanna compare me, but it’s the generational gap. So I’m happy they can say that. It could be a lot worse. I remember there use to be a whole different conversation about Chris Brown. I’m thankful in the regards.”

Here’s What Tank Said About CB & MJ
Earlier this week, TSR reported that Tank praised Chris Brown in an interview with Stephen A. Smith. During the conversation, Stephen recalled a comment from the ‘When We’ singer that “almost” gave him a heart attack.
Smith asked Tank, “What did you say about Chris Brown compared to Michael Jackson?”
Tank replied and affirmed that “Chris Brown is, in fact, better than Michael Jackson.”
Smith agreed that Chris Brown is the “greatest entertainer on the planet” and truly “special,” but he doubled down and rejected the idea that he’s better than MJ.
