Corey Finally Gets His License
Well, y’all the gag is Corey can officially be out in these skreets! The Michigan man is now a registered driver and can legally drive on the road.
PEOPLE reported that in June, Harris celebrated passing his driver’s test with a dance after obtaining a permit that made him legal on the road.
Now, Harris’ lawyer, Dionne Webster-Cox, confirmed to the outlet that he officially received his actual license on July 8, 2024.
“In the face of public ridicule, Mr. Harris did not become discouraged. He stayed the course and finished the race. He is a law abiding citizen, and he does have a driver’s license,” Webster-Cox stated.
Although Corey can now celebrate being a valid driver, he still hasn’t cleared all of his legal troubles.
PEOPLE also revealed that he will appear in court today (August 7). His lawyer, Dionne Webster-Cox, told the publication that securing his license between court hearings could downgrade the misdemeanor charge to a civil fraction.
More Details On Corey’s Viral Video & His License
Corey Harris initially went viral after he joined a court video call while driving his wife to an alleged doctor’s appointment.
Authorities reportedly suspended his license at the time. Judge Cedric Simpson was so baffled by Corey’s audacity that he requested that he turn himself in.
“I don’t even know why he would do that. So defendant’s bond is revoked in this manner. Defendant is turning himself into the Washington County Jail by 6 p.m. today. Failure to turn himself in will result in a bench warrant with no bond.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, Corey’s license suspension reportedly stemmed from a child support case with the Saginaw County Friend of the Court. He argued that the agency allegedly failed to send the judge’s order to the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office, which handles these issues. As a result, Corey’s license suspension has remained active on paper ever since. On May 31, the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office confirmed that they had not received the clearance.
However, Corey’s viral video took an expected turn when Judge Simpson revealed that Corey had never been a licensed driver. Judge Simpson clarified that the suspension applied to Harris’ driving privilege, not to a nonexistent license.
“…With any reference to your client having had a license on that day, in some indication or misunderstanding as to whether or not he had a license…let me make it very clear…he has never had a license. Ever. And [he’s] never had a license in the other 49 states or commonwealths that make up this country. He’s never had a license.”
