Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather is throwing hints at possibly coming out of retirement to take on another fight in the future. But there’s a catch: only if “nine figures” get’s thrown his way!
Mayweather announced his retirement in September after defeating, Andre Berto 49-0. His new focus involves mentoring young and up and coming boxers like Ashley Theophane and former mentee, Adrien Broner.
According to Complex, CBS and Showtime are so far the only networks who have thrown some heavy figures past his way, but it looks as though he’s happier than ever to just sit back and give back to his mentees under The Money Team: ”Yes, I’m happy to be where I’m at. Everyone is asking, asking me, ‘Is Floyd Mayweather coming back?’ Right now, I’m happy on this side [of the ropes], but I’ve been talking with CBS and Showtime and you just never know. But for now, I’m happy on this side. As of right now, you know, some crazy numbers have been thrown my way, upwards of, of course, nine figures. I’m truly blessed, way beyond belief. I don’t know what we’re going to do, but right now, I’m happy being on this side helping fighters.”
It’s only been eight months since the 39 year-old champ has been out of the boxing ring, but you never know what’s up his sleeve when money talks!
