Pastor Jamal Bryant is basking in the joy of his recent engagement to Pastor Karri Turner! Meanwhile, the internet has been chatting away about what his ex-wife, Gizelle Bryant, might think about his fiancé status. But there’s no need to just wonder, given that Gizelle has already publicly reacted to the news.
For context, Pastor Bryant became known to Bravo audiences when the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star introduced him on the show. In addition to being her ex-husband, they share three daughters, Grace and twins Adore and Angel.
How Gizelle Bryant Reacted To Her Ex-Husband Engagement
The ‘Reasonably Shady’ podcast host slid into the pastor’s comment section of an Instagram video shared on May 26. In the clip, Pastor Jamal Bryant announced the news of his engagement to his congregation.
He spoke lovingly about the moment he realized he needed to propose to Karri Turner. His caption added that his heart feels “overjoyed” while his “destiny is in clear focus.” In his words, “love always wins.” Apparently, that’s how his ex-wife might be looking at it, too!
“Congratulations! Very happy for you,” Gizelle Bryant commented.
Her comment has received over 2,700 likes and at least 88 responses, including from Pastor Bryant and his fiancée Pastor Turner. Jamal wrote, “@gizellebryant means the world to me! Thank you.”
Pastor Karri Turner added, ” @gizellebryant Thank you so much, gorgeous,” with two hearts and one sparkle emoji.

It’s unclear if Gizelle knew about the engagement before her Bryant’s congregation or 714,000+ Instagram followers. However, given the comments described above, all seems to be well between the exes and his new First Lady. Whether they’ve met in person or had a 1-on-1 talk is also unclear, though.
Meanwhile, their daughters — Grace, Adore, and Angel — are on board with this new chapter in their dad’s love life. “I can’t tell you how happy my children are…” he told his congregation during the announcement.
Pastor Jamal’s engagement comes after an attempt in recent years to reconcile his romance with Gizelle Bryant. They were married in 2002 but split in 2009 due to infidelity. Ten years later, in 2019, they tried to rekindle their relationship but broke up again in 2021, per Bravo’s ‘The Daily Dish.’
In February 2024, G-Bryant told Andy Cohen that she was still in a “situationship” with model Jason Cameron, meaning they were dating but still free to see other people.
