Vilma Miel is suing the Bellagio Hotel after allegations that her boss discriminated against her. Miel has apparently been a cage cashier for the past 20 years at the hotel, but it wasn’t until 2014 that she began to experience harassment.
Miel is from the Philippines and claims that she was humiliated after her boss said that Filipinos “originated from monkeys.” The former employee also claims that he called her an “old woman.”
As if that wasn’t trying enough, Miel had been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome during the 2015 Chinese New Year. When she left the country to get treatment, Miel returned only to find that she had been suspended and was later fired.
This woman is suing for discrimination based on national origin, age, and disability, according to TMZ.
