Recap of The ‘Fits’ & Hits Usher Gave At The Super Bowl
As the 45-year-old superstar said in 2023, this show was 30 years in the making for him! And Apple Music issued that reminder moments before the show in a big, bright red ad for those of us watching from screens.
Usher came on in an all-white ‘fit, dripped out with silver accents and gloves! His dancers wore outfits you’d easily seen on the Vegas streets seven days a week.
He opened the show with ‘Caught Up,’ then danced his way into ‘You Don’t Have To Call.’ The eighth-time GRAMMY gave a few minutes of FULL BODY WORK, all vocals, and no lip-syncing. He also gave a heartfelt shoutout to his mother with ‘Superstar.’
For song five, Usher performed ‘Love In This Club.’
Give It Up For All The Black Entertainers In This Year’s Super Bowl Show
And one thing about Ushe: he put on for Black music and culture MOMENTS during Black History Month! All Black artists and former collaborators joined him on stage on Sunday.
He opened with the highly speculated Alicia Keys! Sis made her entrance in a beautiful, flowing, red cape with an abstract candy red piano playing ‘If I Ain’t Got You.’
Usher met her at the piano, she dropped the cape and showed off her glittering red bodysuit and the two took us into his sixth song of the night, ‘My Boo.’ They gave an intimate performance of the people’s favorite! And the crowd went extra nuts when Usher hugged Alicia from behind!
For his seventh song in the fifteen-minute performance, Usher tapped on Jermaine Dupri to introduce the one and only ‘Confessions.’ Also, give it up for the woman who went viral for testing her coworkers on the song’s lyrics. The singer played a snippet of her voice before wowing the crowd with the highly requested throwback.
