Bill Cosby may have dodged another bullet in his sex assault case as it has been reported that another lawsuit has been thrown out!
Back in October, Renita Hill filed a lawsuit against the comedian claiming that he drugged and sexually assaulted her and another woman. Unfortunately for her, Renita’a claim has been dismissed with prejudice, meaning she is unable to amend or re-file the suit.
Her allegations were made public in 2014 during a television interview in Pittsburgh. She claims that Cosby drugged and molested her several times after they met on the TV show, “Picture Pages,” in 1983. She says that molestation started when she was 16 and it lasted for about four years. It was reported that Cosby helped pay for her college and would fly her to cities where he was but she claims she eventually cut ties with him about four years later.
Hill tried to say that the Cosbys came for her character as they made her out to be a “liar” and “extortionist” but she took another “L” because the judge in the case ruled that The Cosbys denials weren’t grounds for defamation since their words are ultimately protected by the First Amendment.
“Even considering these three statements together as a combined, single statement, this newly ‘conjoined’ statement does not lead to an inference that plaintiff is a ‘liar and an extortionist,'” the judge wrote.
Hill’s attorney, George Kontos, fired back saying, “The basis of his opinion is these are constitutionally protected, ‘pure’ opinions,” Kontos said. “But, looked at as a whole, they contain all sorts of innuendo and undisclosed facts.”
Lets see if Cosby can keep this streak going. Lets chat below!
