Has anyone ever come up to you and ask, “Hey, have you seen___?”, and then you reply “No” with a confused look? For example, I recently overheard a convo where someone asked, “You ain’t seen Love and Basketball?!” The second person replied back saying ,”I said no, bihhh!” Then came the strong side eyes and silent treatment.
Growing up in certain communities sometimes its a struggle to hold on to your “Black Card” due to lack of cultural awareness or representation and while we may not have seen all of the black classics, I sure as hell have seen a majority of them: Coming To America, Poetic Justice, Foxy Brown– are you kidding?!
