Last Monday, Soulja Boy was seen flossing big money while appearing on the reunion for Love and Hip Hop Hollywood, ironically enough his money is in the news again but this time its because he was scammed!! See God don’t like ugly…no pun intended!
Soulja has always talked about having his money tied into different investments and one of them being the hoverboard industry. Welp according to Buzzfeed, he sent an email to Stripe, an online payment processing company, basically in a panic after noticing a negative balance in the account directly linked to his “Souljaboard” payments.
“I need help all the payments are fraud,” Soulja Boy wrote to Stripe’s support staff on Nov.12. “And it sent my account to negative because they all say they weren’t authorized. please help in any way you can thanks. I don’t want to have to pay all this money because of frauds is there any way to reverse these payments and get my account to Good standing.”
Well Soulja does have a good reason to panic because it Buzzfeed also revealed that as of Dec. 7th, Soulja Boy’s Stripe account had a balance of $-174,448.08 after more than 75% of all orders for the $1500 hoverboards were fraudulent and were later disputed after the fact!
Stripe did comment on the matter saying, “We can’t comment on the financial details of particular Stripe accounts for privacy reasons. Generally speaking, credit card network require merchants to limit disputed transactions to less than 1%. If a merchant’s dispute rate is above that threshold, card networks can and do enforce their limit by levying fines and, in some serious cases, refusing to allow the merchant to continue accepting credit cards at all.”
Yikes! Fortunately for Soulja Boy, he isn’t the only one getting scammed out here when it comes to these hoverboards. It is reported that IO Hawk, the premiere hoverboard brand in the US, has a debt of more than $900,000 owed to Stripe because of chargebacks.
Sheesh, was it ever that serious? Lets chat below!
