Brandi Boyd and Max Lux are grieving the sudden loss of their youngest child. The married couple, who welcomed Baby Lux in November, took to Instagram on Tuesday (March 7) with the tragic news.
“Pray for Brandi and my family…we lost our baby yesterday and are facing the hardest trial I never knew existed,” Max wrote. “Please be mindful of your comments to my Brandi. TBH I wouldn’t of even posted about this but rather you get information from me than anyone else.”
Though Max didn’t reveal the reason behind the infant’s passing, Brandi has been vocal about their son’s health issues since his premature birth in November. Max’s post seemingly suggests the months-old baby stopped breathing without ill actions involved.
“Lil Lux passed. We and the emergency response did our best to resuscitate him to no prevail and this is a tragedy. There is no foul play and everyone is hurt, especially myself. I mean damn my last post my close friend passed and now this…if u was ever gonna go to bat for us now is the time fam,” Max wrote.

Brandi also shared a message on Tuesday–begging Baby Lux for a sign from above.
“We need you, we love you. Send us a sign. Visit your brother and sisters in [their] sleep. Let us know [you’re] warm in heaven. I can’t believe I am typing these words. Pray for my family. #BabyLux. Send me strength to carry on. I have to be strong for your siblings,” Brandi wrote.
On Wednesday, Brandi shared another video of Baby Lux with a caption about missing her son’s smell, smile, cry, and energy.
Brandi Boyd And Max Lux’s Son Was Scheduled To Have Surgery Before His Passing
On February 19, Boyd revealed on Instagram that Baby Lux was about six days away from surgery. However, at the time, she said the infant was “fighting [a] heavy, tough cold,” meaning the surgery would likely have to be rescheduled. Her post didn’t offer any explanation behind the surgery itself.
But it wasn’t the first social media post mentioning surgery. Brandi also posted a message on February 5 for parents with young kids requiring a medical operation.
“To all my parents out there having to be strong when your baby has to have surgery so young. Being [put] to sleep feels so scary, and [they’re] so little. I admire your strength. This is so hard for us but will never lose faith and only speak positivity and life over this earthly angel,” Boyd wrote on a photo of Baby Lux crying.
It’s unclear if Baby Lux received the medical procedure before he passed away on Monday (March 6). Despite being born prematurely, the family was allowed to bring Baby Lux home in December. Brandi shared a video of herself and her four children on December 26.
A few weeks before, on November 9, Boyd had revealed that her water broke and she was “not feeling well” along with being “nervous and scared.” From then, she shared updates about her initial struggle and success in producing milk while Baby Lux remained in the NICU.
By November 26, the newborn was “managing without the CPAP machine and maintaining the temperature,” per mama Boyd.
Sending the Boyd family love and healing during this difficult time!
