Angela Simmons is floating on cloud nine following the reveal of her romance with Yo Gotti. She took to Instagram Story on Monday with a humble brag on the state of her life.
“Happier than I ever been,” Angela wrote, along with a pink double-heart emoticon.
Angela and Gotti brought in the new year by confirming that they’re boo’ed up using couple photos and a video. And their captions told it all.
Simmons wrote:
“You are all I need and more,” adding a red heart emoticon.
Gotti wrote:
“Ain loss a crush since high school,” adding a black heart emoticon.
The CMG label founder also shared a video of them wishing each other a ‘Happy New Year’ and toasting champagne in a Rolls-Royce.
Romance Approved? Angela’s Son Told Her In 2022 That He Was Ready For Her To Date
It’s refreshing to see Simmons dabbling with love again! In 2018, a man named Michael Willams killed her fiancé and son’s father Sutton Tennyson. Williams was sentenced to life in prison in April, with an additional 15 years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Simmons gave an emotional speech in court about the effect of Sutton’s death on their young son.
During a September appearance on Tamron Hall Show, Angela spoke about feeling numb when she learned about the murder. She also touched on how her six-year-old has been supportive of her dating again.
“He’s like ‘are we ever going to get married? Is someone going to marry us?’ Or he’ll ask stuff like that. This was a touching conversation because he told me, ‘I know my dad is in heaven and I’m gonna always have two dads because I know my dad will be my dad, but mommy when can we have someone? When will somebody be there for us?”
In 2020, Angela shared intimate footage with boxer Daniel Jacobs, making them Insta-official. But it’s unclear if that romance ever progressed into introductions between Simmons’ son and Jacobs.
We also can’t confirm whether Angela has briefed her son on her relationship with Gotti or whether the rapper has met the child. But, one thing we do know is that lil’ man is ready for someone to sweep his mother off her feet–and Gotti has clearly landed that role!
Yo Gotti And Angela Simmons First Sparked Dating Rumors During Second Half Of 2022
Yo Gotti and Angela’s romance comes nearly six years after he revealed his crush on her with Down In The DM.
“And I just followed Angela (Simmons) // Boy, I got a crush on Angela (Simmons) // They like ‘Damn Gotti, you bold”// F**k it, I’m gon’ let the world know (#goals),” Gotti rapped during verse two.
A few years later, in April 2020, he made another public attempt at letting Angela know how he felt about her. He wrote, “I think u perfect” under a bikini photo Simmons posted with a body positivity message.
But this year, fans began to analyze their friendship a little deeper after multiple public hangouts and social media hints between September and November.
In September, Gotti joined Angela during a club-based celebration of her 35th birthday. At the time, she was seen singing along to Down In The DM while the Memphis rapper sat a few feet away.
Then in October, Yo Gotti and Simmons appeared to be on vacation together. Folks online flagged similarities between out-the-country posts they both made.
At the time, they evaded blatantly posting each other, but their views and activities in Paris and Dubai seemed to be a lil’ too coincidental for fans. Take a look below!

By November, it seemed like Angela was cozy with Gotti’s family, given her presence at his mother’s birthday party. Afterward, she shared a photo of her blushing at someone she covered with a large red heart emoticon. By that time, fans had already determined the mystery man was CMG’s main guy.
2022 was seemingly good to Gotti. He not only bagged a baddie he’s long been crushing on but also bagged a Memphis artist that’s blazing her path in the industry.
In July, Gotti signed GloRilla to CMG–handing her a $500,000 gift to commemorate the moment.
In May, Billboard named CMG the “hardest-working label in hip-hop.”
Gotti and some of his roster of stars, including Moneybagg Yo, Blac Youngsta, and EST Gee, posed for a digital cover.
A couple of days before the cover dropped, The Shade Room reported that Gotti gifted himself two Rolls Royce cars worth $1.2 million for his birthday–possibly one of which he recently got cozy in with Angela!
