A 70-year-old Nashville man is now facing charges after allegedly murdering his wife on New Year’s Day. According to Fox 35 Orlando, the man was arrested on Saturday, January 6.

The outlet reports that seventy-year-old Joseph Glynn was booked into Davidson County Jail following his arrest. He has reportedly been charged with criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and evidence tampering.
Glynn is also being held on $1,030,000 bond.
More Information Regarding The Alleged Murder
According to Fox 35 Orlando, Glynn admitted to smashing his 76-year-old wife, Jackie, in the head with the hammer. The incident allegedly took place at their home. Then, on January 2, he reportedly drove her body to a property they shared in Smithville to bury her.
WWNY-TV reports that Glynn had a hole dug on the property two weeks before his wife’s murder.
DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray reportedly explained that Glynn told a contractor he needed the whole for a burn pit. According to WWNY-TV, the pit was 6 feet wide, 10 feet long, and 6 feet deep.
Glynn allegedly led Jackie’s children to believe that she left their home because she was terminally ill.
However, the children questioned Glynn’s account and contacted their mother’s doctor to learn that the information was false.

A silver alert was issued to inform the public that Jackie Glyyn was missing. To note, a silver alert is “activated when an elderly, developmentally, or cognitively-impaired person has gone missing and is determined to be at-risk,” per California Highway Patrol.

However, on Saturday, January 6, Jackie Glynn’s body was found “deep down” inside the hole. According to authorities, her body was placed in a plastic vehicle cargo box, which was found underneath roofing shingles covered by dirt.

Glynn allegedly disposed of the murder weapon and admitted that he sold his wife’s belongings after her death. Furthermore, police allege that the man also attempted to sell the Smithville after he buried his wife.
According to WWNY-TV, investigators are working with Jackie Glynn’s children to determine additional information surrounding her murder.
