Rapper 50 Cent is having a true winning season. With four Power spinoffs, a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and a now 9x platinum selling album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin.”
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, the 44-year-old’s first album is now considered a 9x Multi-Platinum project, produced by Eminem and Dr. Dre. With only one million more albums needed, he will soon reach Diamond status.
Debuting in 2003, ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’’ had chart topping hits like ‘In Da Club,’ ‘P.I.M.P.,’ and ’21 Questions.’ All of these songs are still bops, at least for the 80’s babies.
Let’s not forget, that this was also during the time that the beef between 50 and Ja Rule was at an all-time high. One rap beef that many of us still talk about ‘til this day.
Upon release, the album initially sold 872, 000, and by the end of 2003 it sold 12 million copies and was certified platinum by the RIAA. I’on care what anybody says this will always be a bop!
Roomies, which 50 Cent song is your fave?
