As you all know, at the moment 50 Cent doesn’t have a good relationship with his eldest son Marquise Jackson. In a recent interview with Van Lathan for XXL, 50 Cent spoke about his falling out with Marquise and if he thinks the two of them would ever reconcile.
When asked if he thinks there could be some kind of reconciliation, 50 said, “When you pray for success, you don’t necessarily pray for the things that come with it. It’s no such thing as success without jealously, without envy or entitlement. His mom developed an entitlement that cannot be met.”
When asked if he loved his son, he responded, “I used to. A complicated question will say how long can you love something that don’t love you back. In this experience, you look and you say I didn’t think success would cost me my firstborn, but it’s the situation it is. My grandfather would say, if it rattles like a snake, if it slithers like a snake, is it a snake or do you need to be bit?”
With hopes that things could turn around, Van asked if Marquise’s actions could be excused because of how young he is. However, 50 argued that his son is a grown man and no longer a kid.
“No, he’s 23 years old, 24 years old. That’s not a baby no more, that’s a grown man.”
50 continued to say he doesn’t know what if would take for the two of them to have a relationship with each other, and proceeded to tell a story about one time when he ran into his son at a jewelry store.
Last month, while on Instagram Live, someone asked 50 Cent if he talked to fellow New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine since his release from prison, to which he said he didn’t. If you all recall, prior to 6ix9ine’s arrest, he and 50 had developed a bond, to where 50 referred to him as his son.
50 said, “No I ain’t heard from 6ix9ine. He’s his mother’s child now, he told on everybody.” He then proceeded to say he would choose 6ix9ine over his biological child.
