An Ohio woman who was shot in her leg at her own gender reveal party claims she lost her unborn child following the shooting. However, new details have emerged, revealing that the woman was never pregnant, to begin with.
According to the New York Daily News, on Monday Colerain Township Police Chief Mark Denney announced that the woman, Cheyanne Willis, was not pregnant at the time of her gender reveal party.
Authorities are still trying to figure out why the woman was hosting a gender reveal, although she had not been pregnant. Denney said, “All we have at this point is speculation.”
During the party, which took place on July 8th, two gunmen walked in a Capstan Drive home and fired 14 rounds. Eight people were hit, three were children and Autumn Garrett, 22, was reported dead.
Willis, who was shot in the leg, told the local news she had lost the baby after being released from the hospital.
Due to her lie and other false information, investigators are having trouble trying to figure out what actually happened and who was responsible for the shooting.
Denney continued to say, “Hours and days have been wasted following leads known to be lies when they were provided to our officers. From the very beginning of this investigation, we have met significant resistance that is uncommon from victims of a crime wanting a resolution.”
Officers are reportedly offering $10,000 to anyone that can provide them with information about the case, and lead them to the two gunmen.
Roommates, what are your thoughts?
