The Obama’s may no longer be in the White House, but that does not mean they are done with making a difference within the communities.
According to Ebony Magazine, during a speech at South Shore Cultural Center, Barack Obama announced that he and his wife Michelle would be donating $2 million to the summer job programs in Chicago.
He said, “One of the things that we’ll be starting this year is Michelle and I are personally going to donate $2 million to our summer jobs programs here in the community.”
He continued, “So that right away young people can get to work and we can start providing opportunities to all of them.”
The Chicago Tribune also reports that Obama also offered the first look at the designs for his planned Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park. The building will reportedly feature a museum, an auditorium, restaurant and presidential library.
Billboard reports that Obama is also looking to construct a recording studio, where he wants to invite musicians to work.
