NFL draft prospect Gareon Conley is being investigated by police after a woman claimed he raped her in a Cleveland hotel. Conley denies the allegations and so far no charges have been filed.
According to USA Today, Conley is a projected 1st round pick in the NFL draft on Thursday.
According to the police report, it all went down on April 9 at the Westin Hotel in downtown Cleveland. The report says that the woman met Conley in an elevator with her friends. It also says she left them and went back to his room with him, where he allegedly asked her if she wanted to hook up with him, and a couple that was in the bathroom.
She told him “she wanted to watch the couple” but was trying to “avoid having sex with Conley altogether.”
The report also said that she and Conley went into the bathroom and he allegedly unbuttoned her pants and pulled them down. He allegedly began to have sex with her, and she reportedly told him multiple times “no stop, it hurts!” After that, she says Conley kicked her out of the room.
Police spoke with two witnesses who were in Conley’s room, and it looks like the odds are in his favor.
One of the witnesses said she was mad because she got kicked out of the room and that he “never touched” her. Another witness told police they were “on the bed together, but nothing happened.”
Police tried to interview the woman at the hospital but she declined and said: “she wanted to go home and that her dignity was stripped from her in a matter of minutes.”
