United Airlines has supposedly gone from people cruelty to animal cruelty one pet owner claims. Apparently, the airline is now being accused of being involved in the mysterious death of a rabbit who was on track to being the world’s largest.
65-year-old Annette Edwards says her three-foot Continental Giant rabbit named Simon randomly died while on a flight from England to Chicago. He was on his way to his new owner and Edwards claims that the rabbit was checked by doctors just hours before departing.
“Something very strange has happened and I want to know what,” Annette told The Sun.“I’ve sent rabbits all around the world and nothing like this has happened before.”
She added, “Simon had a vet’s check-up three hours before the flight and was fit as a fiddle.”
Apparently, Simon was kept in the cargo section of the Boeing 767 plane and it wasn’t until it landed at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport did United crew members discover the dead animal. Ironically, this is the same airport where a doctor was injured after being forced off his United flight just a few weeks ago.
Edwards, a mother of 10 who is also known in the UK for trying to become the human “Jessica Rabbit” via plastic surgery, says that Simon’s new owner is very “famous” and very “upset.” To make matters worse, she also says it cost almost $6k a month to make sure Simon is well taken care of.
“After the viral video no-one wanted responsibility for killing what was to be the world’s biggest rabbit,” a source told the NY Post.
Simon’s father, Darius, is currently the world’s biggest rabbit with a height at 4-feet, 4 inches.
As for the United, the airline says, “we are reviewing this matter” in response to reporters.
