Dr. Dre and Magic Johnson have been nominated to be on the Los Angeles 2024 Olympic bid team.
117 board of directors and nominees for the 2024 games were named today on LA2024’s website. Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, and Walt Disney Company chairman Bob Iger were also amongst the notable business people listed.
“The diverse group of 117 leaders and innovators are drawn from the sports, entertainment, media, technology, higher education, business, philanthropic and public sectors in California and around the world, helping LA 2024 develop a Games plan that will serve the Olympic Movement in 2024 and beyond,” LA 2024 said in a statement.
The major west coast city will be competing against Paris to be chosen as the host city. It is reported that the International Olympic Committee will meet on September 13th to draw their votes.
Los Angeles has already hosted the 1932 and 1984 Olympics games.
