#Covergirl’s first male spokesperson, #JamesCharles, is under fire after sharing a distasteful joke between himself and a friend regarding Africa and Ebola on Twitter.
“I can’t believe we’re going to Africa today,” he said, “OMG what if we get Ebola?” The friend’s response was “James we’re fine. We could’ve gotten it at Chipotle last year.”
Needless to say, Twitter users criticized the makeup artist for associating disease with the continent. One person questioned “Are people really getting pressed over that?” and Twitter user @anywaysgabi tweeted back with, “Sorry that people didn’t find it funny that the only thing people associate with Africa is a deadly disease?”

James saw the tweet and decided to throw some more shade of his own:
“Do not put words in my mouth, holy f***!” he replied. “I cannot wait to not have cell service for 10 days so I don’t have to deal with Twitter.”
Eventually, James tweeted out a sorta-kinda apology, but referred to Africa as a country, so, Twitter user @_CherMyWorld corrected him by saying, “They should have proofread it for you, hun! Africa is not a country. Try again.”

Many of his former fans are calling for Covergirl to sever ties with James. Do you think he deserves that? Let’s chat!
