Charles Oakley can finally return back to Madison Square Garden!
Last week James Dolan banned Charles Oakley from Madison Square Garden after the two got into an altercation. At the time, the Knicks claimed Oakley was being disruptive, while Oakley claimed Dolan just didn’t want him there.
Things got even more heated when Dolan went on “The Michael Kay Show” Friday and insinuated that Oakley has anger and substance abuse issues.
Dolan had a little time to cool off over the weekend and decided to lift the ban, however, Oakley just want’s an apology.
“It’s not about being at the Garden,” Oakley said to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. “It’s about the fans. I want them to apologize to the fans. I told the commissioner I want them to apologize to the fans.”
Oakley later appeared on The Dan Le Batard Show on ESPN, where he was asked if he would go to a game with Dolan, as his guest.
“Right now, no,” he said. “I told him yesterday.”
“I have never asked for nothing,” Oakley added. “I love the fans in New York. They’ve been supportive. One of the things I told the commissioner, I want to have a press conference and I want him to apologize to me and the fans. They’ve had my back and they’ve felt the pain. I really appreciate the people all around who’ve had my back.”
Oakley and Dolan squashed their beef at NBA headquarters, with Michael Jordan on the phone, according to the Knicks.
