Looks like Delta is starting off the new year with more drama as it was reported that two former employees are suing the airline for $5 million and you won’t believe why!
According to TMZ, Kayla Jenkins alleged that she and another coworker, Lauren Heffernan, were fired after they reported inappropriate conduct in the office.
Kayla says that back in February 2016 she caught her mentor, Mike, masturbating in the office while she sat at her desk. She then says she went to Lauren to tell her what had happened and to her surprise Lauren told her that she had went through the same thing.
Both women then alerted Delta’s execs about their mentor, who had allegedly been with the company for 25 years, relieving himself in the office. The suit claims that instead of the higher ups taking the incident seriously, they began to joke about it, citing one instance where an exec said, “I’m horny. Hey Peter, let me sit at your desk and rub one out by the window so everyone could see.”
Delta had first released a statement saying, “Delta takes allegations of inappropriate conduct very seriously. We promptly investigate and take appropriate action when issues of this nature are brought to our attention.”
Well it looks like upon further investigation Delta felt justified in the two women’s termination, saying it has nothing to do with the incident they reported.
A rep for Delta says, “Our investigation into this allegation resulted in the termination of two employees. The complainants were legitimately terminated for reasons completely unrelated to any allegations of misconduct by others.”
There is no word on whether or not “Mike” was also terminated. Lets chat below!
