Former NFL player Ray McDonald is catching heat after a video of him terrorizing his baby mother surfaced from their 2015 domestic violence case.
TMZ Sports revealed the footage which was recorded on May 25 around 4 am where it looks like the pair are in a standoff and his baby mother seems terrified. In the video, you can hear the woman tell him that she’s holding their 2 month old and that the ex-49er should leave her alone while cornered behind a table.
His driver was also present and you can hear him begging McDonald to allow the woman to get her stuff so she can leave.
“Let’s go. She will get ready and she’s being picked up. Please, Ray.”
The four minute long video ends with a chase where it sounds like McDonald went after her and you can hear the woman screaming “stop” before locking herself in the bathroom.
McDonald was charged with domestic violence and felony false imprisonment for the incident. Unfortunately, for his baby mother even after the video was shown in court, a grand jury still sided with the football player and charges were later dropped.
As for her attorney, she describes the incident as “one of the most horrific videos I’ve seen and heard in my 46 years of practicing law.”
They are both currently working with organizations like Change.org to propose a reform for the NFL to provide a fund “to ensure that the victims and children of abusive players receive medical, counseling, and legal support paid by the league.”
McDonald was cut from the 49ers in 2014 after he ran into trouble for a sexual assault case as well as the domestic violence reports. He was later picked up by the Bears in 2015 before they cut him when he was arrested for domestic violence. He hasn’t played in the league since.
