5. So we reported a while back that Selena Gomez was taking some time off to recover from her anxiety and depression. Fans were heartbroken but she began to mend those hearts with her Favorite Female Artist award acceptance speech on the VMAs.
“In 2014, this stage was actually the first time that I was authentically 100 percent honest with all of you. I think it’s safe to say that most of you know a lot of my life, whether I liked it or not. And I had to stop. Because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside. And I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down. I don’t want to see your bodies on Instagram,” she continued. “I want to see what’s in [your heart]. I’m not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore. All I can say from the bottom of my heart is I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to be able to share what I love every single day with people that I love. And I have to say thank you so much to my fans, because you guys are so damn loyal, and I don’t know what I did to deserve you. But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. And if that’s anything, whether you respect me or not, that’s one thing you should know about me, I care about people. And this is for you, thank you.”
4. You guys know that anytime Nicki hits a stage its an automatic full out performance. But when she got to these AMAs, she showed awf, honey! She and Ariana Grande performed “Side to Side” and let’s just say she bust the pwussy open in the most TV appropriate way possible!
3. Gigi Hadid came to play petty and her Melania Trump impersonation had viewers cracking up!
2. Drake came with the shots during his Favorite Artist award acceptance speech. After shout outs, he cuts straight to the chase:
“For our genre, I like to keep things exciting and keep making music. Shoutout to everybody trying to do the same thing. More Life coming soon and more chune fi ya head top so watch how yuh speak on mi name, you know?” All we want to know is whether or not Drake is going to give that same momentum on the album because if so we need the pre-order link!
1. Finally, we are so here for Green Day’s performance! Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong switched the lyrics to their song “Bang Bang” with “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA,” and the crowd almost lost it!
