Looks like Raven Symone is trying to work her way back on our television screens in more ways than one! Word on the street is she is leaving her position at The View host, to return to the Disney channel as Raven Baxter! Yep, “That’s So Raven” is coming back as a spinoff!
“I’m excited and sad, but mostly excited. I have an announcement to make: No, I’m not pregnant,” Raven said on today’s episode of The View as she made her announcement.”There’s no title yet, but I’m calling it That’s So Raven 2. It’s Raven Baxter. It’s still me. But I am a mother this time. I’m going to be a single mother raising two kids, and one of them learns that she has visions.”
Not only will she star in the show, which remains title-less at the moment, but Raven is also slated to executive produce it as well.
“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world,” Disney Channel executive vice president Adam Bonnet said in a statement. “Her performance in That’s So Raven is timeless. We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”
The original show last aired back in 2007 after four seasons making it the first show to get to the 100-episode mark.
Raven will be making her official exit from the daytime talk show in December and auditions for the spinoff will begin soon. Wonder if her former co-star Orlando Brown will make a cameo… well we won’t hold our breaths on that one!
