Emmett Till’s Organization Has Raised Over $15,000 To Renovate The Historical Site

Yesterday we reported that the historical sign honoring Emmett Till’s life was vandalized in Mississippi. The photo was posted on Facebook about a week ago by Kelvin Wilson Jr. and has since went viral. The Emmet Till Interpretive Center managed to raise over $15,000 to replace place the sign.

The center released a statement on their website saying,

“We have reached our goal! But we are not done. We hope to continue our work of telling the truth. We sincerely thank everyone for their support and for giving us hope.”

This is extremely good news but also a little alarming since the marker has been vandalized a couple times dating back to 2008, according to FoxNews.
