Drake is still on top even if Summer ’16 has come and gone. The nominations for the American Music Awards have been revealed and the Canadian rapper snagged a whopping 13 nominations!
Even though Drake has yet to win an AMA, his chances are looking good because not only is he nominated for categories like Artist of the Year, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Male Artist but Drake is also nominated twice in top categories like Collaboration of the Year for his part in Rihanna’s “Work” and his hit song “One Dance” as well as Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Album for his latest album “Views from the 6” and his tag team with Future on “What a Time to Be Alive.”
If you thought Drake’s gravy train was done after this, you’re wrong. His 13 nominations also beats Michael Jackson’s 1984 record of 11 nominations. Other artists doing it begin for this year’s AMAs are Rihanna who has seven nominations, Adele and Justin Bieber comes in after with five nominations each. Beyonce follows up with four nominations and Fetty Wap, the Weeknd, along with Bryson Tiller all have three nominations each.
