Our nation has to deal with the loss of yet another unarmed African American killed by the ones were supposed to call for help. It’s been an emotional week for the family of Terence Crutcher, and they want what we all want JUSTICE.
According to NY Daily News, Terence’s father, Joey Crutcher said he taught his son how to handle police during a traffic stop before he even had kids, when he spoke at Rev Al Sharpton headquarters Wednesday..
“My son had his hands up, like I told him how to do it, so they know you don’t have a gun,” he said.
Unfortunately #Roommates it appears that wasn’t enough. Terence was unarmed and stood near his SUV with his arms up when he was fatally shoot by officer, Betty Shelby. This tragic incident was caught on camera and it’s very emotional for the family to watch.
“I can’t look at that video anymore,” the father said.
Terence’s sister, Tiffany, joined their father and talked about how devastating this loss is for them and their family.
His four children were crying,” said Joey. “His little baby started noticing his daddy is not there: ‘Is he coming back today? Tomorrow?’ What can I tell him?”
As devastating as this is his family is trying to keep it together for his kids and just want to see some justice.
“We’re demanding that justice be served,” Tiffany said. “Just keep the prayers coming because we need them. We’re a faith-based family. The chain breaks here.”
