It has been reported that another black man was shot and killed by police just a day after Terrence Crutcher was killed by police in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
According to a woman who goes by the name Lyric YourAdorable Scott on Facebook, her father was shot four times by authorities in Charlotte, NC.
“The police just shot my daddy four times for being black,” she says. “They tased him first and then shot him.”
She details the aftermath of the shooting as well as when she finds out that her father was pronounced dead on Facebook Live:
Apparently authorities were in the process of serving an arrest warrant when the shooting occurred, unfortunately the man shot wasn’t the person being arrested.
According to the Charlotte Observer, police at the scene are claiming that the man shot “posed an imminent deadly threat to officers” after they say that the man was armed.
“The subject got back out of the vehicle armed with a firearm and posed an imminent deadly threat to the officers who subsequently fired their weapon striking the subject,” police said in a press release. A gun was reportedly recovered at the scene.
Of course reports are conflicting because the victim’s daughter is claiming that her father is disabled and was actually reading a book before he was shot. Police also say they tried to administer CPR at the scene before he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
We will keep you updated on the story as more information becomes available.
