Looks like Rihanna has landed another acting gig! Deadline confirms that the singer will be joining Anne Hathaway on the hit Ocean’s Eleven spinoff , Ocean’s 8!
According to Deadline, the cast hasn’t been fully picked yet but filming is speculated to start in October. It will still follow the Ocean’s Eleven series storyline of a bunch of thieves trying to pull off a major heist but this time it will be lead by Sandra Bullock and her team of women.
“It’s a pretty similar tone. You know, Steve Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we wouldn’t have done this if we weren’t,” Director Gary Ross told Slashfilm back in June. “I don’t think he would have wanted anyone to do it if we weren’t. This is very much an extension and continuation.”
Steve Sodergh was the director of Ocean’s Eleven. Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Nora Lum aka Awkwafina, will also be in the Warner Bros film.
