President Obama already made history by becoming the first African American president, and he’s making it yet again because he commuted the sentences of 214 more federal inmates today, which is the largest single day grant our country has ever seen!
According to USA Today, Obama now has 562 commutations under his belt. This is all apart of Obama’s plan to correct the problems within the judicial system and their unreasonable sentences.
“The more we understand the human stories behind this problem, the sooner we can start making real changes that keep our streets safe, break the cycle of incarceration in this country, and save taxpayers like you money,” Obama said on his Facebook.
