Looks like Wendy Williams’ is still reaping the repercussions for her offensive comments on the NAACP and HBCUs while discussing actor Jesse Williams’ famous BET Awards speech on her show.
As if losing major endorsements deals and being publicly schooled by Roland Martin wasn’t enough, Page Six is now reporting that a few producers for the show were also booted!
“The crew had a big party celebrating what they considered a season well done,” a source told them, “and the next day [some of them] got calls saying they’d been let go.”
Word is Jason Gabel, one of the show’s top executive producers, along with two other senior staff members were amongst the staffers who didn’t make the cut!
Page Six also reports that the reason behind the major cuts is the show wants to “retool” the show with more current events and pop culture talk.
