Wednesday morning prosecutor’s dropped the charges against the remaining officers that were awaiting trial in the Freddie Gray case.
So far in what has been upsetting to most, the case has been unsuccessful as three of the six officers arrested for his death were acquitted of all charges.Earlier this month Lt. Brian Rice was acquitted on charges and the driver of the vehicle in which Gray rode in the back of was acquitted back in June.
The decision to drop the remaining charges came about in during a pretrial motion for Officer Garret Miller, whose trail was expected to begin last week.
Prosecutors were unsuccessful in securing a single conviction during the trail of the first few trails, which initially started back in December.
Gray was found unresponsive after he rode unsecurely in the back of the police wagon back in April 2015. It was later announced that he died of spinal injury. His death caused outraged in the city of Baltimore, which made headlines throughout the country.
The gag order that was placed upon the lawyers, defendants and witnesses has since been lifted. It was originally placed to calm down the publicity after Gray’s death, which sparked many protests and riots.
