Pop singer Rihanna was set to headline the two-day Lollapalooza festival in Colombia this September, however, due to the increasing fear over the deadly Zika virus, she has reportedly pulled out of the performance all together! While the organization did not name her, Colombian media outlet, La Tercera identifies her as the artist who dropped out.
Rih’s sudden leave from the lineup has allegedly left organizers with no choice but to cancel the festival since they haven’t found anyone to replace her in time.
In a statement on their site, Lollapalooza Colombia wrote, “The organizers wish to express their deep appreciation to all the fans who supposed the festival since day one, as well as the sponsors and the media partners.”
According to Daily Mail, this would have been Colombia’s first Lollapalooza festival.
Lana Del Rey and Wiz Khalifa were set to perform as well, however, concertgoers can head over to Lollapalooza to claim a refund. Yikes!
