In the wake of Pop Smoke’s shocking passing, many of his peers have been sending their condolences and speaking out about the dangers that come with being in the hip-hop game.
In a recent Instagram post, 2 Chainz talked about how being successful could be dangerous, and he used his own personal experiences to prove his point.
He said, “Been shot at in San Fran, got arrested in Maryland, LA, New York, and Oklahoma had a so call standoff with police in Oklahoma, Cali spot got broken into 4 times all on tape and one of them even left their phone. ALLL SINCE I BEEN A “RAPPER” you literally gotta Pray ????????that you make it back home safe !! But then you not even safe at home.. ???????????????? my condolences.”
His message came after the shocking news that Pop Smoke had been fatally shot in Los Angeles. As we previously reported, his murder occurred in what appeared to be a home invasion.
However, early Thursday, new reports claimed that the murder turned out to be a targeted hit and not a robbery seeing as how the suspected shooter was reportedly seen on surveillance video leaving the home without taking anything.
Many rappers across the hip-hop community have been advocating to stop the violence as many artists continue to lose their lives at such a young age. One of the many big names to speak out following the news of his passing was Nicki Minaj.
She said, “The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the. grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop.”
Roommates, please continue to keep Pop Smoke’s loved ones lifted in prayer.
