The Hip Hop world and beyond mourned the loss of legend Jam Master Jay in 2002. Eighteen years later, his family is one step closer to getting justice.
Today, federal officials and members of the New York City Police Department are expected to announce charges for two suspects connected to the unsolved murder of Run-DMC’s DJ, NBC New York reports.
Law enforcement sources identified the alleged suspects as Ronald Washington, who is already in prison, and Karl Jordan, who was reportedly arrested Sunday.
For years there was speculation of who may have killed the rap pioneer but his murder remained unsolved. For those who don’t remember, Jam Master Jay was shot to death at a recording studio in Queens. Jay was 37 when he was killed.
Jay’s studio has been converted into the Hall of Fame studio owned by a new company that has kept Jay’s legacy alive with painted murals. The studio also has RUN DMC memorabilia that decorate the walls.
We’ll keep you posted on any updates.
