As we all know, the legendary pop star, Prince passed away today. While fans are speculating exactly how he passed (most are saying from the flu), his former wife, Mayte Garcia, has surfaced and exclusively
tells People magazine her piece on this tragic loss.
“This man was my everything, we had a family. I am beyond deeply saddened and devastated.” Garcia tells People. Garcia and Prince met in 1990; at the time, she was hired on as one of the dancers for his
‘Nude’ tour. And the rest is history.
The two got married and started a family in 1996 when she was only 22. They grieved over their son, Gregory, who died seven days after he was born; due to a genetic bone disorder. 4 years later, the two went their separate ways and divorced.
Grace also confesses to People that even after they divorced in 2000, she still loved him whole heartedly. She states, “I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally,” she continues. “He’s with our son now.”
It’s also being said that Prince’s song, ‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the World’, was about Garcia.
