It is being reported that a traffic accident cost former New Orleans Saints star Will Smith his life last night… the cause of death road rage.
According to the Washington Post, the former defensive end and his wife were driving in New Orleans when a Hummer hit them from behind causing them to run into the car in front of them. Witnesses say an argument started and then 6-8 shot rang out shortly after. Smith’s car had a bullet hole in the windshield and Smith was in the car slumped over the steering wheel. His wife was shot twice in the leg , no word on her current condition but she is expected to survive.
Moments before the shooting Smith posted this picture with his wife:
“A senseless and tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Will Smith — his wife Racquel — his children William, Wynter and Lisa,” said Greg Bensel, the Saints’ vice president of communications.
The 28-year-old shooter stayed on the scene and was booked on second degree murder charges.
He was 34. Our prayers go out his family and friends.
