It’s seems like everyday we are hearing of social injustice and unanswered crimes throughout the country.
Last week a teenage girl, Gynnya McMillen, was found dead in a Kentucky juvenile detention center. A person saying she was McMillen’s sister created a Facebook page informing people on the incident and pleading for answers. On the FB page “Justice For Gynnya McMillen,” she says
“I am asking that everyone repost and share my sisters story on your pages and any groups that will help us get it out there. My 16-year-old sister died in custody of a detention center but they’re not giving out any info on how she was found and they’re saying her autopsy shows no cause of death. The news channels only played her story one time. We want justice and Kentucky isn’t giving it to us! Thanks for all the prayers and help. Gynnya McMillen.”
The FB post has recieved over 23,000 shares since its posting on January 15th. There are not too many articles about the incident and you may have missed it if it weren’t for the power of social media that shed light on the situation.
So far police have not given any answers as to why or where the teen was found unresponsive on January 11th.
