More news has surfaced about NFL star, Lawrence Phillips’ alleged suicide last week. Phillips attorney is alleging that his client was actually murdered.
According to TMZ, investigations were underway immediately after Phillips’ family were finding it hard to believe anything officials said about him committing suicide. One go-figure clue was a note found in Phillips sock! Phillips attorney and family members knew right away that that note didn’t even come close to Phillips hand-writing, since he does have his own signature style!
Rolling Out reports that Phillips’ attorney, Dan Chamberlin discovered the note and describes it as a racial target. It reads: “Did you hear the one about the football player who hung himself from the TV mount in his cell. What’s the black person do. They should just die.”
The note get’s even more erie, as the note was written in the beginning to say “football player,” but someone must have written over it because it now reads “Ex” football player!
Before his death, he was placed in a segregated cell because of his suspected killing of his cellmate, Damian Soward back in April, 2015. Phillips was to serve 31 years in Kern Valley State Prison for assaulting his then girlfriend and for also allegedly driving his car into three teenagers after a dispute back in 2009.
Phillips attorney is not pointing fingers yet, but he suspects that gang members were seeking revenge once fingers pointed towards Phillips for the death of his cellmate. Phillips was officially laid to rest this afternoon.
