A landlord in Queens, New York is now pissed after two men turned their three-bedroom apartment into a 10-bedroom stay and then makes a profit off of it themselves by posting it on Airbnb!
According to PIX 11 News ,Eddie Shiew rented out the third floor of his Elmurst home to Burak Firik and Dogan Kimilli for $2,500 a month. Probably realizing that the rent was a steep price to pay the tenants had a pretty smart but illegal plan to make some money of their own. After reconstructing the three bedroom into a 10 bedroom apartment, they started selling each room for $35 a night. Chile if you saw how small those rooms are now… all we want to know is “Bish where” and “How Sway?”
Anyways, once Shiew heard and saw what was really going on after the deal was sealed he was so furious that he went to the apartment himself, changed the locks and destroyed the newly renovated apartment. Oh but baby! That did not stop Firik and Kimilli from taking Shiew to court for illegally locking them out of their apartment and guess what….they won! Bish Whet!? Yes chile, Shiew was later ordered to let them back into the apartment because they signed a lease!
“This is the worst thing that happened to me in my life,” Shiew said.
Even though the leasing contract that Firik and Kimilli signed it states that, “Except as authorized by the…consent of the Landlord, Tenant will not make any repairs or alterations to the premises,” most likely giving Shiew the upper hand in his case, you can definitely tell that this will be a messy situation.
It’s already beginning to get ugly, since neither tenant wants to give up without a fight. It is alleged that Firik texted Shiew saying: “We know the laws very well…you will not be able to evict us ever because now the apartment is corrected and we will stay at least one year.”
Two men have already stayed at the newly renovated apartment, but they’ve claimed they’ve never met Firik and Kimilli. They’ve paid for the rental stay on Airbnb’s website and that was it. After Shiew tore down some of the renovations Firik and Kimilli still found a way for people to sustain privacy by building curtains instead…I can’t!
Even Arnold Diaz, a reporter for PIX11 News tried to speak with Firik, but all he got out of him via phone was that he and Kimilli didn’t make any changes and that they were staying at the apartment….HA! Not according to the two strangers staying there!
