While Nathan Broxton’s mother has quite the social media following, he recently stole the show through his beloved rendition of Broadway hits!
Nathan’s mother, Samantha (aka @raisingself), began uploading videos of the 11-year-old singing show tunes a couple of weeks ago, noting that they’d become an “obsession” for her son.
One video showed him jamming out to a song featured in Hamilton after seeing it live.
Some bops from Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical got a shoutout, too! In fact, one video was captioned, “Let’s just call this Nathan’s audition!”
Notably, various people in the theater world—including Leslie Odom Jr. and journalist Ayanna Presley—praised Nathan on Twitter.
Odom warmly remarked, “Young brother is far more committed than I even dreamt of being at his age. This is conviction! And I love to see it. On this trajectory, he’ll eclipse me in no time.”
As for Presley, she reshared a video of Nathan and noted, “We love to see the rise of a new theater kid. Protect him.”
Additionally, we should add that the Twitter account for the Broadway production of A Strange Loop hopped beneath Presley’s tweet and appeared to express interest in potentially casting Nathan.
With all the buzz surrounding Nathan’s love of show tunes, Delta Air Lines decided to get in touch with his mother in order to send his whole family to see a Broadway musical!
Samantha shared the news on Twitter, and she noted that the surprise left her “in shock.”
However, she noted that they wouldn’t be going right away, as they were going to “have to be patient” and wait to see what musicals are lined up for the future.
Meanwhile, though, the family is busy preparing for Nathan to “audition for an award-winning TV show.”
Shoutout to Nathan Broxton, and wish him the best of luck!
